What does it mean...Apostate?

My days have been quite busy and I continue to face many trials. I'm so thankful to Jehovah for His protection and for illuminating my path. (Psalm 18:1-3; Proverbs 4:18) Aside from all else, I'm also working on a couple of projects, in between that, I've made some simple cards to help clear my mind and relax...coloring always helps.

Jehovah continues to teach me well. I've learned through Jesus, we must do everything in moderation, so as to not be overwhelmed and get lost along the way. Everything we do must be seasoned with salt. This includes our daily activities. (Ecclesiastes 3:1; Psalm 145:15; Proverbs 25:6; Matthew 5:13)

It's always nice to slow down and refresh the mind. If you been to my FB, you'll know that I've joined a Bibleread group, which I thoroughly enjoy being a part of, many have differing beliefs, from unitarians (monotheism) and trinitarians, but regardless...the respect is always given. As I continued to do my daily studies with the Bibleread group, I learned that I need to do it at my own pace, so as to not get overwhelmed in keeping up with a timetable.

I've reached a point where my studies needed to go deeper on the last chapters in Exodus and in the book of Leviticus, so keeping up with sharing my thoughts on it on a daily basis wouldn't allow for a clear head, I need time to meditate on it, as I continue to search other scriptures. Although I've studied the Bible, I'm now looking to break down the verses, chapter by chapter.

The point for me, is not to read the Bible in a year, it's to read the Bible as accurately as possible, and take the time to meditate on all that I am reading. When I am ready to share it, I will...but at my pace. I plan to update some of my previous blog posts, you may find that some changes were made to some already.

Here's a simple, yet elegant card I made using copic markers...

What is lack of trust?

Proverbs 3:5
"Trust in Jehovah with all your heart,
And do not rely on your own understanding."

How can you possibly make the truth your own, if you don't dig deep.(2 Corinthians 4:2) No one else has lived your life, only Jehovah knows the answers you're seeking. (Matthew 6:21; Matthew 6:6; Matthew 7:7; Proverbs 4:18) If you're still relying on "man" to get the answers you seek, the above question on trust is meant for you. (Proverbs 13:9; Matthew 4:4; Matthew 4:8, 9) How many have been stumbled because of incorrect teachings? (Romans 14:3, 4; 1 Corinthians 8:13)

See blog post ~ Fear (Smoke and Mirrors) Seeing Through It (my first stumbling block)

Is it not right to make changes on teachings that are inaccurate? If you haven't done so, why not? (Proverbs 25:27) "In answer Jesus said to him: “It is said, ‘You must not put Jehovah your God to the test.’" ~ Matthew 4:7

Jehovah teaches His people in an organized way. (1 Corinthians 14:33) Is it organized, when there is so much division? (Acts 20:29, 30) What development did Paul warn about? (1 Corinthians 1:10) DO NOT LIE... Can you honestly say there is no division? If you're one claiming there is no division, then you are part of the problem. (Zechariah 8:16, 17; John 8:44) If there isn't peace among all, then there is no holy spirit. (Romans 2:17-24)

See blog post ~ Narrow is the Gate (Pride and Idolatry)

Do you think yourself better than others, because of the food you are receiving? Did you ever stop to think that your understanding of the Holy Scriptures is that of men, and not of Jehovah? (Ephesians 5:6) What is a False Prophet?

We all get our food from the same place, Jehovah's word...the Holy Scriptures. (Hebrews 4:12, 13; Joshua 1:8; Psalm 1:1, 2)

Here's another card I'd like to share... Matthew 19:26

What is an Apostate?

"This term in Greek (a·po·sta·siʹa) comes from a verb literally meaning “to stand away from.” The noun has the sense of “desertion, abandonment, or rebellion.” In the Christian Greek Scriptures, “apostasy” is used primarily with regard to those who defect from true worship.—Pr 11:9; Ac 21:21; 2Th 2:3."

If one chooses man's word over Jehovah's word, is that not apostasy? Does it not defect from Jehovah, to make "man's" principles go above Jehovah's principles? Do you teach principles that stand away from the Holy Scriptures? (1 John 4:1-3)

Example: see updated blog post ~ Baptism - Circumcision of the Heart (specifically Watchtower April 1, 2009 The New Birth—How Does It Take Place?

Must you be baptized in water first, before you can be anointed? Is there scripture that can prove that? If not, then why do you teach it and punish those who don't? (Mark13:21-23) Who really is your God? The false prophet or Jehovah? (Matthew 7:15-23) What does it mean to be chosen "before the founding" of the world?

"Predestinarian view
...texts such as Ephesians 1:4, 5 are cited as evidence that God foreknew and foreordained the future of all his creatures even before the start of creation."

If you are still teaching it, is it not a false teaching? Do you get mad (rebel) at those who question "man's" explanation of scripture? Do you look the other way (desertion) when one uses scripture to explain their point, and you continue to rely on "man" for your answers? Do you even consider them to be an apostate, if they question mistakes found that are taught by your leaders? If you turn your back on the Bible, are you not turning your back (desertion) on Jehovah, to follow man instead? Is it possible that you are an apostate, practicing false worship and don't even know it? How many have fallen to false religion and don't even know that, that is what they are doing? If you're still following "man" then you are not following Jehovah.

Here's another card... 2 Corinthians 12:9

What is PURE WORSHIP?

If it's Jehovah you worship, stay close to Jehovah and rely ONLY on the Holy Scriptures for your answers. If it can't be explained to you through scripture, then it's not an answer. If you continue to go to man and choose to look the other way, after something has been proven to you in scripture, then you are abandoning JEHOVAH... you are an APOSTATE.

“It Was My Sanctuary That You Defiled”—Pure Worship Corrupted.
"Jehovah loved and cared for the Israelites as his “treasured possession.” (Ex. 19:5, ftn.) But they repaid Jehovah by worshipping false gods in the very temple that bore his name! They broke Jehovah’s heart and brought reproach upon him."

Who REALLY is the Faithful and Discreet Slave? Would Jehovah choose a false prophet? Who do you really follow... JEHOVAH GOD, or the false prophet? (2 Corinthians 11:13-15)

Trust in Jehovah is Trust in His timing. (2 Peter 3:9) It's not about religion, it's about you, as the individual and Jehovah God. Jehovah is watching. (Hebrews 4:12, 13) Why do I attend meetings? For Jehovah... and because I love my brothers and sisters, and I want them to see the light. (Proverbs 6:23; 2 Peter 1:19)

Here's the last card for today... Proverbs 31:26

When I teach my students, I teach them about the TRUTH, that Jehovah God is LOVE and requires EXCLUSIVE DEVOTION. We must do everything in LOVE, and follow the examples and LOVE shown to us by Jesus Christ.

I teach ONLY the accurate parts of the literature that I use and I have them click on every scripture, to be sure that what is written is PROPERLY backed by scripture. I never make it about the organization. (1 Corinthians 3:16, 17) I explain how imperfect we all are, including the Governing Body and many other leaders. It is not our place to judge, LOVE all people, regardless of their faults or beliefs. In the end each of us render an account and have freewill to make the right choice. (Romans 14:10-12) Always taking the good out of the bad.

Always do what is right by Jehovah God...read the Bible daily, put your TRUST in Him and draw close to JEHOVAH.
